50 CENT VS. ANTHONY FAUCI?

WASHINGTON (AP) — You've probably seen celebrity fashion comparisons with the question, “Who Wore it Better?” As major league baseball gets underway, a question you may see debated is, “Who Threw it Worse?” It's a question made pertinent yesterday — when Dr. Anthony Fauci threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the season opener in Washington. To say Fauci's toss was off the mark would be a kindness. It spent more time skidding on the ground than it did in the air — ending up well wide of home plate toward first base. Years ago, rapper 50 Cent made a similar errant throw, which landed in the same general area wide of the target. People would likely be willing to cut Fauci some slack for his throw, given that he has a few decades on 50 Cent.

AMBER HEARD'S SISTER TESTIFIES AT DEPP'S LIBEL TRIAL

LONDON (AP) — Amber Heard’s sister has denied lying to an London court. She issued the denial after Johnny Depp’s lawyers presented video footage they claim shows Heard was violent toward her. The video was sprung on Whitney Henriquez after attorneys for Depp said they got it from a “confidential” source the night before. Depp has sued a London tabloid for calling him as a “wife-beater” in a 2018 article. His attorneys are trying to challenge numerous accounts from Amber Heard that Depp repeatedly assaulted her, since those incidents would support The Sun's characterization of the actor.

THE MISSING MOVIES

NEW YORK (AP) — Movie theaters in this country are itching to open their doors, once the coronavirus pandemic eases enough to do so safely. But theater owners are concerned whether there would be enough big movies to lure customers back. Because of the COVID crisis, Hollywood has postponed the release of all its big movies this summer — and it's unclear when they will be screened. Theater owners are starting to press the studios to make big movies available to help the theaters survive once they begin to open with reduced seating capacity.

BEIJING PARTIALLY REOPENS MOVIE THEATERS

BEIJING (AP) — Beijing partially reopened movie theaters today as the threat from the coronavirus continues to recede in China’s capital. Cinemas in parts of the city considered at low risk of cross-infection began admitting moviegoers under social distancing rules. Tickets must be booked in advance, attendance is capped at 30% of capacity — and there is no eating or drinking allowed.

PRINCE HARRY, MEGAN MARKLE SUE TO BLOCK UNAUTHORIZED PHOTO OF ARCHIE

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have gone to court to stop the sale and publication of a photo of their son Archie. The royal couple say the photo was shot at their Los Angeles-area home — and was an invasion of their privacy. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, claims paparazzi have used super-long telephoto lenses and drones to try to get shots of the couple's son, who is sixth in line to the British throne. The suit says a photo of Archie being shopped purportedly was taken in Malibu. But Harry and Markle claim they haven't been in Malibu since arriving in the U.S.

MICHELLE OBAMA LANDS HUBBY FOR PODCAST

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Usually it would take a lot string-pulling to land former president Barack Obama as a guest on a host's first podcast. But in this case, it was probably more like, “Honey, you will do my new podcast, won't you?" You've probably guessed by now that the new podcast host — is former first lady Michelle Obama. The podcast makes its debut next Wednesday on Spotify.
