THE LAUNDRY ROOM — The world still cannot get enough of Harry Potter.

Even though the last Harry Potter book was released in July 2007, and the last movie was released in July 2011, many megafans of a certain generation still think and talk about it every day.

Nine years later, LEGO still sells Harry Potter sets, college students still play the muggle version of quidditch, and artists still create fan art and crafts, all paying homage to the series that charmed millions.

It seems permanently tattooed in their brains, just like the original Star Wars trilogy, Indiana Jones, and Back to the Future franchises have been tattooed into the brains of generations that came before.

The dedication of this franchise’s fandom doesn’t seem like it will ever dim. And that brings us to the featured video from TikTok users @kurtschneider and @electricjason, which, frankly, is pretty incredible even if you don’t like (or if you even loathe) Harry Potter.

In the clip, two young men are before a stacked washer and dryer unit. As is predictable, one of the fellows thumps away on the front of the top machine, using the door and his hands to keep a percussive beat.

If you think this wasn’t a waste of 5 hours smack that ‘+’ 😂 @electricjason ##harrypotter##washingmachine

But it’s the other fellow who really takes this up to a whole new level. Using the buttons and knobs on the lower machine, he actually plates the exact tune of the Harry Potter theme, officially known as "Hedwig’s Theme." It’s amazing how a machine can sound exactly like a celesta, the little piano used as the main instrument in the theme.

The concepts sounds simple, but it is such a feat of ingenuity (and probably boredom) that it’s hard not to be impressed. Make sure to watch through to the end for an ending that puts the cherry on top of the cake that is this clip.
