SALT LAKE CITY — One person was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash late Friday morning.

A pedestrian was struck by a semitruck in the area of 600 South and 500 West, Salt Lake City police confirmed. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semitruck stayed at the scene and was cooperating with police.

Northbound I-15 and eastbound I-80 offramps to 600 South were closed for several hours due to the incident, but all roads had reopened by 3:45 p.m.

The incident was under investigation as of Friday afternoon.
