SALT LAKE CITY — A 52-year-old man died in a mountain biking accident Tuesday evening in Salt Lake City.

The accident occurred about 5 p.m. near Terrace Hills Drive and Edge Hill Road, Salt Lake City Police detective Michael Ruff confirmed Wednesday.

"(The man) had an accident — fell on his bike, and unfortunately did die from his injuries," Ruff said.

The accident occurred above The Avenues neighborhood, which has access to several mountain trails.

The man's name was not released.
