GENOLA, Utah County — Officials on Sunday identified the Genola man who died Friday after striking a semitruck in Utah County.
Wyatt Garrison, 24, died on U.S. 6 after his Ford Explorer drifted over the center line near 800 South about 10:30 a.m., Utah Highway Patrol troopers said.
The driver of a white Kenworth semitruck coming from the opposite direction saw the Ford drift into the lane and began pulling over to the right shoulder, UHP officials said.
The Ford kept drifting left and collided with the semitruck on the driver’s side.
The semitruck stopped on the right shoulder while the Ford spun and stopped in the middle of the highway.
Garrison suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, officials said. The semitruck’s driver was not injured.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation Sunday.
The crash closed the highway for several hours but it was reopened by 3:40 p.m., officials said.
