MERCUR, Tooele County — One woman was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition Sunday afternoon after she was ejected from an ATV in Tooele County.

Four people were on the vehicle when they took a corner too sharply and rolled it near Fivemile Pass, according to Matt Gochis with the Bureau of Land Management.

It is the second major ATV accident to occur at Fivemile Pass in less than 24 hours. A 25-year-old man was killed on an ATV there Saturday night.

The transported woman suffered head and arm injuries, Gochis said. Another woman was transported to the hospital by ground. Two of the passengers did not require treatment, he said.

They were all approximately 30 years old, he said.

Gochis said about 2,000 people are recreating in the area today. “It is very busy," he said, "so drive with caution and don’t take risks you might normally take."
