UNEXPECTED BLISS — Dentures have long been comedic gold.

I can’t count the number of television shows and movies I’ve seen that use fake teeth for a gag: someone gets hit from behind and their gums fly through the air in slow-motion, a cooky grandparent leaves them next to their bed for a moment of shock value, or someone gets cartoonishly hurt and has to comedically don dentures for the rest of their screentime.

Basically, we’ve all seen dentures played for laughs before, but you’ve probably never seen them like in this video.

Dog owner Ben Campbell purchased a pair of fake teeth for “some quarantine comic relief” and left them on his table.

Campbell’s Yorkshire terrier, Thomas, promptly stole them and immediately became very attached, carrying them around his mouth and creating a mascot-esque illusion with his pearly-white, hilarious new set of not-quite canines.

Thomas obviously loves his dentures, and Campbell’s attempts to retrieve them are met with toothy resistance. Thomas’ evasion maneuvers seem to work, possibly because Campbell is wheezing so hard he can barely gasp out, “Thomas, what are you doing?!”

A snort of laughter overtakes dear Campbell, and Thomas is victorious, stubborn, and looking positively pleased with himself.

With 1.9 million views on YouTube, it’s clear that Thomas became the quarantine comic relief we never expected, but we all need right now.
