OGDEN — A Weber County man was charged Tuesday with rape after police say he paid a 16-year-old girl he met on a sugar daddy website for sex.

Jeremiah B. Anderson, 43, of Hooper, is charged in 2nd District Court with rape and forcible sodomy, both first-degree felonies due to prior convictions; sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony; and patronizing a child prostitute, a third-degree felony.

Anderson met a 16-year-old girl on the website SecretBenefits, according to charging documents. In March, Anderson picked up the girl, took her to his work and had sex with her for $300, according to the charges, which also say that a video was made of the two of them and a detective viewed that video.

“There are specific furnishings and decorations in the room seen in the video and likewise seen on the arrestee’s business profile. (The detective) has also seen the private office and documented the same furnishings and decorations,” according to the charges.

After their encounter, Anderson contacted the girl again and offered her another $300 to meet with her again, the charges state.

“This transmission was intercepted,” the detective stated in charging documents.

In 2007, Anderson was convicted on an amended charge of attempted sodomy on a child in exchange for two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor being dismissed. He was sentenced to at least three years in the Utah State Prison and was required to register as a sex offender in Utah. Anderson was on parole at the time of his arrest.

Charging documents do not say how the alleged rape was discovered or whether the girl identified herself as a juvenile. Among the terms of service listed on the SecretBenefits website is that users agree they are at least 18 and that “you’ve never been convicted of a felony and you’re not registered as a sex offender.”

A call placed to the Weber County Attorney’s Office was not immediately returned.
