WEST HAVEN — A 70-year-old woman died from injuries she suffered in a crash on Wednesday, Utah Highway Patrol troopers said.
About 6:30 a.m., the woman was southbound in a silver car on 1900 West in the left turn lane to go east on Midland Drive.
As a white pickup truck northbound on 1900 West in the left lane approached Midland Drive, the traffic signal turned green for both northbound and southbound lanes.
The silver car turned left in front of the pickup and the two collided nearly head-on, according to UHP Lt. Nick Street.
The 70-year-old driver likely suffered a broken leg, on-scene medical staff told officials. She was breathing, conscious and alert while on scene, authorities said.
The woman later died at a hospital. Her exact cause of death was not released.
The pickup’s driver possibly suffered an injury but refused medical attention at the scene, Street said in a news release.
