UTAH STATE PRISON — A man serving a life sentence in the Utah State Prison without the possibility of parole is in trouble again.

Frank Paul Reyos, 38, was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with possession of a weapon by a restricted person and obstructing justice, both first-degree felonies.

On March 3, Reyos was being transferred to a new cell at the prison “and while waiting to be scanned, Reyos admitted that he had something in his shorts, and that it was in a sock that was sewn onto the inside of his pants,” according to charging documents.

Upon searching his pants, corrections officers found a knife, the charges state.

In August 2012, Reyos shot and killed 16-year-old Kenyatta Winston and then left his body in a vacant lot at 1120 E. Crandall Ave. (2900 South) where it was found three days later. He was convicted in 2014 and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
