SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake police are looking for a man who allegedly shot another man in the leg Sunday.

About 9:20 p.m., a man was shot near 600 E. Wilmington Ave. The man told police he got into an argument with another man he found looking in cars in front of his house, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Keith Horrocks. The victim told police the man later returned with a gun and fired several rounds at him, possibly through an open door, Horrocks said.

When detectives went to the scene, they found shell casings both in the road and on the porch, he said. Investigators also found a loaded firearm in the residence, Horrocks said.

Police were still trying to determine on Monday if the two men exchanged gunshots and if the two were previously acquainted with each other.
