PAYSON — A 35-year-old woman was killed Wednesday evening in a horse riding accident, Utah County sheriff’s officials said.

Shauna Ann Martin, who had recently moved to Utah County from Evanston, Wyoming, was riding a horse about 6:15 p.m. when she fell and hit her head on a pole, according to Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon.

Martin suffered fatal head injuries.

The accident occurred at a ranch just west of I-15 between Santaquin and Payson, Cannon said.
