(AP) — Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to three touchdowns in the final 6:13, and they overcame a double-digit deficit for the third postseason game in a row to beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs trailed 20-10 and faced a third and 15 when Mahomes threw to Tyreek Hill for 44 yards. They scored a touchdown four plays later, and quickly forced a punt. Mahomes then hit Sammy Watkins for 38 yards to set up a 5-yard scoring reception by Damien Williams that put Kansas City ahead to stay with 2:44 to go.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is set to give his State of the Union address Tuesday night in the Capitol where his impeachment trial is still underway. He's expected to declare the state of the union strong, even when it's bitterly divided, as he asks Americans for a second term. Trump has become just the third president in U.S. history to be impeached, but he's expected to be acquitted in his Senate trial on Wednesday. In a preview, Trump told reporters Sunday that he's looking at giving "a very, very positive message.”

They're trying to fire up voters and make one last appeal to people still struggling to make a final decision about who to support in the crowded field. Campaigns and voters acknowledge a palpable sense of unpredictability and anxiety as Democrats begin choosing which candidate to send on to a November face-off with President Donald Trump. Four candidates are locked in a fight for victory in Iowa and others are still in position to pull off surprisingly strong finishes.
BANGKOK (AP) — The Shanghai Composite index has tumbled 8.7% and then rebounded slightly as Chinese regulators moved to stabilize markets reopening from a prolonged national holiday despite a rising death toll from the virus that has spread to more than 20 countries. The Shanghai benchmark was trading 8.1% lower by midday on Monday. The outbreak has prompted governments around the world to step up surveillance and quarantine requirements. Airlines cancelled hundreds of flights and cities in China imposed stronger limits on public activities, adding to pressures on global growth. Chinese authorities reported the number of people infected by the virus first found in Wuhan had risen above 17,000 as of Sunday night. It has killed more than 360 people, all but one in China.
BEIJING (AP) — China is sending medical workers and equipment to its just-completed 1,000-bed hospital for treating victims of a new virus that has caused 362 deaths and more than 17,300 infections at home and abroad. Reopening of schools was also delayed in hardest-hit central Hubei province, where the specialized hospital was completed in just 10 days and a second hospital is under construction. China's new totals come as other countries continued evacuating their citizens and imposed travel restrictions affecting Chinese or people who recently traveled in the country. The World Health Organization said the number of confirmed cases will keep growing because tests from thousands of suspected cases are still pending.
