CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Destiny Slocum had 15 points and 11 assists and No. 8 Oregon State rebounded from its first loss of the season with an 81-44 victory over California. Patricia Morris gave Oregon State a lift off the bench with a career-high 13 points. Jaelyn Brown had a game-high 23 points for the Bears, who have lost five games in a row.

UNDATED (AP) — Stanford has been the surprise of the Pac-12 so far this season, entering this week as the only team without a conference loss. The young Cardinal opened Pac-12 play with a win over rival California and swept the Washington schools last week. Stanford faces a big test on Saturday on the road against Southern California. The Cardinal open the week with a road game against UCLA.

UNDATED (AP) — Nick Rolovich struck all the right chords when being introduced as the new head coach at Washington State. He spoke of the importance of the Apple Cup against rival Washington. He spoke about the need to recruit the state of Washington and the Northwest. He spoke of wanting to build on the foundation left behind by Mike Leach after eight seasons. The move from Leach's “Air Raid" to the run-and-shoot offense under Rolovich should be an easy transition. It was one of the reasons Rolovich was near the top of Washington State's list.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dave Salo will retire as Southern California men's and women's swimming coach after 14 years when the season ends in late March. He will continue coaching Olympic hopefuls who train on the school's campus. Salo says that after the Tokyo Games end in August he will continue with Novaquatics Swim Club, where he worked from 1990 to 2006 before taking over at USC. Amanda Beard, Lenny Krayzelburg, Jason Lezak, Aaron Peirsol and Rebecca Soni were among the Olympians he coached at USC. Salo was an assistant on U.S. Olympic staffs in 2000, 2004 and 2012.

Reili Richardson added nine points and Robbi Rayn eight with four assists. Amber Melgoza led Washington with 13 points and four assists while Mai-Loni Henson scored 12 with eight rebounds and Haley Van Dyke scored 10 points,

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Cate Reese scored 26 points and No. 21 Arizona never trailed after the first quarter in a 74-67 win over Washington State. Reese made all 11 of her free throws and the Wildcats (14-3, 3-3 Pac-12) made 21 of 22 from the foul line. Aari McDonald added 19 points and eight rebounds. The Cougars (9-8, 2-3) shot 56% (28 of 50) from the field but were only 4 of 9 from the foul line. Chanelle Molina had 19 points, Borislava Hristova scored 14 and Ula Motuga added 10 for Washington State.
