ATLANTA (AP) — John Mooney found a way to post his 11th straight double-double and Prentiss Hubb scored 25 points to lead Notre Dame to a 78-74 win over Georgia Tech. Notre Dame pulled away late to hand Georgia Tech its third straight home ACC loss. Michael Devoe led the Yellow Jackets with 22 points. Mooney's hook shot with 2:48 remaining gave Notre Dame a 63-60 lead and gave the senior his 11th consecutive double-double, tying the school record. Mooney overcame 0-for-6 shooting from the field in the first half to finish with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — D.J. Funderburk had 19 points and North Carolina State shot 64% after halftime to beat Miami 80-63. The Wolfpack had four players in double figures. N.C. State also got a boost with the return of senior C.J. Bryce, the team’s leading scorer who had missed the past four games while being in the concussion protocol. Chris Lykes scored 20 points to lead Miami, which shot just 29.6% in the first half. That included going the last five-plus minutes of the first half without a basket as N.C. State took control.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — When college stars like Cole Anthony are injured, they are faced with the question of whether should they return or sit out the season to protect their looming draft prospects. Most want to return to the basketball court, which has proven to be a good option — provided they’re healthy. The more prospects can showcase how they handle game situations certainly helps in their NBA draft evaluations. Anthony has said he plans to return to action with North Carolina. Zion Williamson returned to Duke's lineup after a freak injury and became the No. 1 pick in last year's NBA draft.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Bobby Petrino has been hired as the new football coach at Missouri State. The school says Petrino will be introduced at a news conference Thursday. He will replace Dave Steckel, who was fired last week after winning just 13 games in five seasons. Petrino has a 119-56 record in 14 seasons at Arkansas, Western Kentucky and Louisville. He left the Arkansas job after a motorcycle accident exposed an extra-marital affair. Petrino was 36-26 in his second stint with Louisville when he was fired in 2018 in the midst of a seven-game losing streak.

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson is losing its leader in receiving yards and touchdown catches as junior Tee Higgins has decided to enter the NFL draft. Higgins announced his decision Wednesday on social media. Higgins is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound receiver from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He had 59 catches for 1,167 yards and 13 touchdowns this season. Higgins caught a Clemson career-record 27 touchdowns during his three seasons. Higgins thanked his family, coaches, teammates and Clemson fans for their support. He says it has always been his dream to play in the NFL and support his family. He is projected as a late first-round selection.

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Tech has scheduled games against a perennial college football powerhouse and a school less than 2 miles away. The Yellow Jackets will face 11-time AP national champion Alabama in a home-and-home series in 2030 and ’31. The schools were bitter rivals when Georgia Tech was a member of the Southeastern Conference, but they haven't played since 1984. Georgia Tech also agreed to its first-ever games against Georgia State, which launched its program in 2010. The schools will meet in 2024 at Bobby Dodd Stadium, and the Yellow Jackets will make the short trip to Georgia State Stadium in 2026.
