Texans, Chiefs
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs advance after beating the Texans in a high scoring game at 51 to 31.
The Texans and Chiefs set a postseason record for combined points in the first half on Sunday when the Chiefs rallied from a 24-0 first-quarter deficit to take a 28-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Patrick Mahomes tied the playoff record with four touchdowns in the second quarter in a ten minute span.
Kansas City will host the Titans next week.

AP source: Browns hiring Vikings OC Stefanski as next coach
UNDATED (AP) — The Cleveland Browns are hiring Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski as their new coach, according to a person familiar with the decision.
The person tells The Associated Press that Stefanski accepted the offer on Sunday, a day after Minnesota lost to San Francisco in the NFC playoffs. An official announcement is expected Monday.
The 37-year-old Stefanski nearly became Cleveland's coach a year ago but finished as a runner-up when the Browns selected Freddie Kitchens, a surprise hire who was fired after a disappointing, drama-filled 6-10 season. Stefanski spent this past season bolstering his varied resume running Minnesota's offense, and the Browns made sure they didn't let him get away again.
Stefanski, who had been with the Vikings since 2006, is Cleveland's 10th full-time coach since the franchise's expansion rebirth in 1999. He is the sixth coach hired by Browns owner Jimmy Haslam since he bought the team in 2012.

— New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been arrested in Southern California on suspicion of misdemeanor vandalism after jumping on the hood of someone's car. Police say Edelman caused unspecified damage when he jumped on the vehicle Saturday night on a commercial block of Beverly Hills. He was released on a citation and is scheduled to appear in court April 13. Edelman led the Patriots during the 2019 regular season with 100 receptions, 1,117 yards and six touchdowns. But nagging injuries took a toll. He was mostly a non-factor in New England’s 20-13 wild-card upset loss to the Tennessee Titans.
— The Green Bay Packers will have their usual array of starters for their NFC divisional playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks as defensive tackle Kenny Clark and right tackle Bryan Bulaga are both active. Clark was questionable with a back injury. Bulaga's status for the game Sunday night was up in the air after he caught the illness that spread throughout Green Bay's locker room. Seattle left tackle Duane Brown is active after missing the Seahawks' last three games with a knee injury. Seattle will be without left guard Mike Iupati and defensive end Ziggy Ansah, who are both dealing with neck injuries.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Bojan Bogdonovic scored 31 points, Rudy Gobert added 21 points and 14 rebounds and the Utah Jazz beat the Washington Wizards 127-116 on Sunday for their ninth straight victory. Utah overcame a 15-point deficit in the third quarter to win for the the 14th time in 15 games. Jordan Clarkson added 17 of his 23 points in the second half for the Jazz. Utah scoring leader Donovan Mitchell sat out because of an illness. Bradley Beal scored 25 points for Washington after being out with right leg soreness. Washington lost at home for the first time in four games.
Prior to the game, Washington waived guard C.J. Miles, who has been out since late November following wrist surgery, signed former two-way center Anzejs Pasecniks to a first-team contract, and signed forward Johnathan Williams to a two-way contract. Beal played 27 minutes after coach Scott Brooks said his time would be limited. His season low is 24. Center Thomas Bryant scored eight points in 15 minutes in his return after missing 20 games with a foot injury.

Purdue defense bottles up No. 8 Spartans in 71-42 upset
UNDATED (AP) — Trevion Williams scored 16 points and Purdue relied on a staunch defense to upset No. 8 Michigan State 71-42. The Boilermakers snapped a two-game skid by picking up their second win this season over a Top 10 foe. They also beat defending national champion Virginia on Dec. 4.
Cassius Winston finished with 10 points to lead the Spartans but also had nine turnovers as Michigan State's eight-game winning streak ended. The Spartans, who were 4 1/2-point road favorites, hadn't lost since Dec. 3. They produced their lowest point total of the season and were held almost 40 points below their season scoring average of 81.3.

— Daniel Oturu scored a career-high 30 points and Minnesota went on a late 11-0 run to beat No. 19 Michigan 75-67. Marcus Carr had 21 points and 12 assists for Minnesota, while Alihan Demir scored 13 points. Zavier Simpson had 19 points and nine assists for Michigan. Franz Wagner scored 17 points. The Gophers pulled away late after a back-and-forth second half. Oturu scored in the low post with 3 minutes left to put Minnesota ahead for good.
— No. 23 Wichita State blew a nine-point lead in the final minute of regulation but came back to beat UConn 89-86 in two overtimes. Jaime Echenique led four Wichita State players in double figures with 19 points before fouling out. Dexter Dennis and Erik Stevenson each scored 16 for the Shockers, who have won nine straight games. Christian Vital scored 25 points for UConn. The Huskies' Sidney Wilson tied the game at 69 in regulation with a 3-pointer, and he blocked Dennis's shot to send the game into overtime. Wichita State led 69-60 with just over a minute remaining.

Juuse Saros, Kyle Turris lead Predators past Jets, 1-0
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Juuse Saros made 28 saves for his first shutout of the season, Kyle Turris scored in the first period and the Nashville Predators beat the Winnipeg Jets 1-0 on Sunday. The Predators are 3-1-1 in their past five games to improve to 21-16-7. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 31 shots for the Jets. They have lost six straight at home. Predators captain Roman Josi had his points streak end at 12 games. He had 20 points during the career-high run and franchise record for defensemen. It was the NHL's longest active streak.
Turris’ goal was his first since Dec. 3, and sixth of the season.
Jets defenseman Tucker Poolman left in the first period with a lower-body injury and didn't return.

AP source: Rangers, Frazier reach agreement on $5M deal
UNDATED (AP) — A person familiar with the deal says the Texas Rangers have agreed on a one-year, $5 million contract with third baseman Todd Frazier. Frazier will make $3.5 million this season. The deal also includes a club option for 2021 with a $1.5 million buyout. Third base is one of the primary needs for the Rangers, who lost out on their pursuit of free agent Anthony Rendon when he signed with the division rival Los Angeles Angels. Frazier could also play first base and adds a right-handed hitter to the Texas lineup. The deal with Frazier is pending a successful physical.

Djokovic leads Serbia to win over Spain in ATP Cup final
SYDNEY (AP) — Novak Djokovic (NOH'-vak JOH'-kuh-vich) has led Serbia to the inaugural ATP Cup title. He followed up a win over top-ranked Rafael Nadal with a victory in the deciding doubles encounter in Sunday's final against Spain.
Second-ranked Djokivic leveled the final for Serbia with a 6-2, 7-6 win over Nadal after Roberto Bautista Agut (ah-GOOT’) had given Spain a 1-0 lead by beating Dusan Lajovic 7-5, 6-1 in the first singles match. Djokovic went back on court less than an hour later with Victor Troicki and the pair beat Pablo Carreno Busta and Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 6-4. Nadal withdrew from the doubles match, citing fatigue.

Serena Williams ends 3-year title droughts
AUCKLAND, New Zealand (AP) — Serena Williams ended a three-year title drought when she beat fellow American Jessica Pegula (peh-GOO'-luh) 6-3, 6-4 on Sunday to win the singles final at the ASB Classic in New Zealand.
Williams hadn't won a title since the Australian Open in January 2017, and not since she became a mother to her daughter Olympia, who was court-side to see the victory. The 23-time major winner donated her $43,000 winner's check to the fundraising appeal for victims of Australian wildfires.
President Donald Trump tweeted his congratulations, calling Williams “a great player and an even greater person.”
Pegula has been on a steady climb up the rankings since overcoming a serious knee injury two years ago. The daughter of Buffalo Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula, she won her first WTA title in 2019 and appeared to be a star on the rise in all her matches in Auckland.
