SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Sam Ehlinger passed for three touchdowns and ran for another as Texas rolled over No. 12 Utah in the Alamo Bowl 38-10. The Longhorns excised the frustrations of a disappointing regular season with a dominant win over a Utes team that just missed a chance at the College Football Playoff. The Longhorns ran for 231 yards against the nation's No. 1 rush defense. Texas coach Tom Herman improved to 4-0 in his career in bowl games. His three wins at Texas came with the Longhorns the underdog each time.

EL Paso, Texas (AP) — Willie Harts returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to lead Arizona State to a 20-14 victory against Florida State in the Sun Bowl. Harts, a freshman cornerback, halted a 14-0 surge by Florida State and helped the Sun Devils hang on for their fourth Sun Bowl victory, despite not scoring an offensive touchdown. James Blackman threw a 91-yard touchdown pass, the longest pass play in Sun Bowl history, to Tamorrion Terry to give Florida State its first lead, 14-9, in the third quarter. The Seminoles trailed 9-0 at halftime.

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Oregon faces Wisconsin in the 106th Rose Bowl. These schools met in the Granddaddy of Them All eight years ago and put on one of the most exciting games in this bowl's long history. Both programs are stacked with elite offensive talent again. They've also got two of the best defenses in the country. Both schools fell just short of the College Football Playoff and they get a trip to Pasadena as a consolation prize.

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Justin Herbert says he wouldn't have been disappointed if he never got to play in a Rose Bowl for Oregon. The Ducks' senior quarterback returned to school last winter because he wanted to spend more time in the college game with his teammates and friends. Herbert claimed his first Pac-12 title this year, and the Ducks barely missed out on the College Football Playoff. He will lead Oregon against Wisconsin in the 106th Rose Bowl before he moves on to the NFL, where he believes his improved leadership skills from a senior season in college will be a significant asset.
