SALT LAKE CITY — A Sandy man is accused of having more than 13,000 images of child porn on his electronic devices.

Douglas Eugene Saltsman, 40, was charged Monday by the Utah Attorney General’s Office in 3rd District Court with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

The investigation into Saltsman began in May, according to charging documents. Members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force discovered a file being shared titled “Kids porno,” which was a compilation video of prepubescent girls being sexually assaulted, according to charging documents.

On Aug. 20, agents served a search warrant on Saltsman’s home, where they seized computers and SD cards and found “a clandestine drug lab of some sort set up in a downstairs bedroom closet,” the charges state.

A total of 13,020 files of child pornography were submitted to law enforcement, according to charging documents.

Additionally, “disturbing videos of Douglas Saltsman engaged in sexual intercourse with several unconscious women were also located on the devices,” the charges state.

Prosecutors have requested Saltsman be held on $250,000.
