NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — Trey Murphy III had a career-high 25 points with five 3-pointers as Rice rallied to beat Northwestern State 80-74 on Tuesday night to win its third straight.

Drew Peterson had 15 points for Rice (3-1), which trailed 38-30 at halftime. Ako Adams added 14 points and Payton Moore had 10.

Brian White had 26 points for the Demons (1-2). Jamaure Gregg added 11 points and Chudier Bile had 10.

Rice faces UC Santa Barbara on the road on Saturday. Northwestern State takes on Tulane on the road on Saturday.
