BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An 80-year-old Idaho man died and another man was treated at a hospital after their boat capsized in the Salmon River Reservoir. KBOI reports the deceased man has been identified as Eugene Holm of Heyburn. Twin Falls Search and Rescue members found the other man first after responding to a report of the capsized boat Friday morning.
SODA SPRINGS, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a missing elk hunter has been found dead in eastern Idaho. The Caribou County sheriff's office says the body of 79-year-old Paul Schiffman of Oakley was found Friday morning following an aerial search.
CODY, Wyo. (AP) — Yellowstone National Park officials say that despite the challenges of managing visitors eager to photograph wildlife in the park, the number of conflicts involving humans and bears was low in 2018. Yellowstone biologist Kerry Gunther says in the park's annual bear report that it was a considerable challenge to manage visitors who stopped to view and photograph bears foraging in roadside meadows. The Cody Enterprise reports rangers were notified of 1,627 grizzly and black bear sightings in 2018.
CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. (AP) — The trial of a Colorado man accused of killing his fiancee and burning her body on his ranch has begun. A jury was seated Friday for 33-year-old Patrick Frazee's trial, and lawyers on both sides presented their opening arguments later in the day. Frazee has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Kelsey Berreth, who was last seen nearly a year ago with the couple's daughter near her home about two hours south of Denver.
