JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Georgia-Florida matchup in the "Cocktail Party" has become an elimination game. And not just in the Southeastern Conference's Eastern Division. The loser of the showdown between the No. 9 Bulldogs and the ninth-ranked Gators Saturday will almost certainly be knocked out of contention for the College Football Playoff. That essentially makes the neutral-site game is a pseudo quarterfinal matchup for the national title.

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — No. 11 Auburn is looking to get back on the winning track when the Tigers play host to Mississippi this weekend. Auburn sputtered offensively against LSU. The Rebels have lost back-to-back games against Texas A&M and Missouri. Now Ole Miss will face one of the Southeastern Conference's best defenses on Saturday.

UNDATED (AP) — Texas A&M is looking to take another step forward on Saturday against Texas-San Antonio after playing perhaps its most complete game of the season last week in a win over Mississippi State. Coach Jimbo Fisher says there's no way his team will take UTSA lightly as the Aggies try to improve before returning to Southeastern Conference play on Nov. 16 after an off week next Saturday.

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — The NCAA has denied a waiver request that would have allowed Tennessee transfer Evina Westbrook to play at Connecticut this season. UConn argued that issues at Tennessee, which fired coach Holly Warlick in March, met the NCAA's recently revised standards for a waiver. The Huskies were hopeful the 6-foot guard could continue her athletic career without sitting out a season. Westbrook averaged 14.9 points and 5.3 assists last season.
