ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — No. 8 Notre Dame and No. 19 Michigan are not scheduled to play again next year or any season soon. Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel acknowledges future schedules for each school may push the following meeting to 2028 or later. Manuel says both schools are committed to a resolution to play again. Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick says he has no doubt the programs will play again after they walk off the field at the Big House.
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — No. 6 Penn State should have its guard up when the unbeaten Nittany Lions face Michigan State this weekend. The Nittany Lions lost to the Spartans each of the past two seasons, falling on a last-second field goal in 2017 and a last-minute touchdown the following year.
UNDATED (AP) — The game between No. 13 Wisconsin and No. 3 Ohio State lost some of its luster when the Badgers were upset by Illinois last week. The Badgers still stack up as the best opponent Ohio State has faced. Five of the last six meetings have been decided by seven points or less. Michigan's front seven will face a challenge against Notre Dame's offensive line. Illinois heads to Purdue looking for back-to-back wins over Big Ten opponents for the first time since 2014.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — No. 8 Notre Dame will visit No. 19 Michigan this weekend. It will be the first road trip for the Fighting Irish in more than a month. The Irish haven't played a game outside Notre Dame Stadium since their 23-17 loss at Georgia on Sept. 21. The visit to Michigan will mark the third time in coach Brian Kelly's 10 years that Notre Dame lines up on the road after four straight regular-season weeks at home or off. Kelly says he is confident his team is ready. Some are eager for the road trip.
