PROVO — An Orem man accused of sexually abusing young children and also putting alcohol in their sippy cups and drugs in their food faces a long list of felony charges, according to court documents.

Adam Jay Moore, 34, was charged in 4th District Court with rape of a child, and six counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, all first-degree felonies; obstructing justice, a second-degree felony; two counts of child endangerment, a third-degree felony; three counts of dealing in harmful materials to a minor, a third-degree felony; and three counts of child abuse, a class A misdemeanor.

The alleged abuse took place between 2011 and 2014, according to charging documents. The three victims, two girls and a boy, were 7, 6 and 3 when the abuse ended, the charges state.

According to charging documents, in addition to sexually abusing all three children, Moore would sometimes make the children watch as he abused one of their siblings and would force them to watch pornographic videos, sometimes of him having sex with other women.

The victims also reported being dragged across the floor multiple times by Moore, and each, at least one time, being picked up by their throat and thrown, the charges state.

Moore also put alcohol in the sippy cups of the two girls as well as “drugs in their pancakes,” the charges state.

“Often, as (Moore) performed these acts he would tell the children not to tell anybody, that ‘I’m going to hurt somebody’ if they told, and on at least one occasion he told victim1 that he would kill her if she told,” according to charging documents.

Court documents do not say why the alleged abuse stopped in 2014 or why charges were just being filed.

Moore’s first court appearance was scheduled for Nov. 6.
