GRANTSVILLE — A 14-year-old girl was hit by a car while walking across a crosswalk between Main Street and Willow Street, police said.
Officers responded to a call just before 6 p.m. Sunday that the girl was hit, according to Grantsville police detective Cody Painter.
"When we had arrived, the child was in critical condition," Painter said. He added that medical personnel was able to "essentially get her stable to where she could tell us her name."
The girl was flown to Primary Children's Hospital by AirMed.
According to a Facebook post by Grantsville police, Main Street was closed in both directions for about 45 minutes after the incident.
Officers are still investigating what caused the driver to hit the girl.
