Southbound lanes on Highland Drive at 3900 South reopened following motorcycle crash

HIGHLAND — A crash involving a motorcycle at 3980 S. Highland Drive temporarily closed all southbound traffic lanes on Highland Drive from 3900 South to 4000 South.

The accident occurred just before 5:20 p.m. Saturday. A 53-year-old male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and is currently in critical condition, according to Unified Police Detective Ken Hansen.

Further details on the crash were not immediately given. The motocyclist's identity is not known at this time.

UPD's accident reconstruction team is currently investigating the situation, Hansen said.
