SALT LAKE CITY — For Utahns eager to get out and enjoy the summer weather, more roads, trails and campgrounds are open after a winter hiatus; however, some trails are closing.
Both the Alpine Loop Road and Granite Flat Campground will open Friday, but the campground currently has no water available, according to a statement from Utah County Sheriff's Office. The announcement didn't provide details on when water would be available in the campground.
Zion National Park announced an additional trail closure Tuesday.
The Narrows is closed due to high river flow, according to the park's website. While the water level is coming down, people should expect another 10-14 days before the trail is reopened, according to the park's post.
The Upper Emerald Pools Trail is also closed, as is Kayenta Trail (after 0 .8 miles), Hidden Canyon Trail and Observation Point (from Weeping Rock), due to rockfall and storm damage, according to the park's website.
