KEARNS, Utah (AP) — Authorities say three people have been arrested in connection with a Kearns shooting that left one man dead and another seriously wounded. Unified Police say a 38-year-old man from Kearns and a 37-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man from Salt Lake City were taken into custody Saturday. Police say two of the suspects are facing aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and weapon charges. Police say 34-year-old John Herman Tonga was found dead outside a home in Kearns on Wednesday.

The Farmington Daily Times reports trading posts are facing increased competition from online retailers and a large regional grocery store chain and working to navigate changing demands.
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — The Utah Supreme Court has revived a lawsuit filed by a man who spent 17 days in jail in Box Elder County without being brought before a judge. The Standard-Examiner reports that the Supreme Court's ruling Monday said the state District Court incorrectly applied a standard for determining when a county employee is liable for damages for violating constitutional protections.
