PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A 58-year-old semi-truck driver has been seriously injured in a crash that spilled Gatorade bottles on Interstate 5 in Oregon.

The Oregonian reports Steven Howard of Salem was heading north Saturday morning when his semi-truck hit an impact barrier near Albany.

Oregon State Police say the truck skidded onto its side in the exit lane. The exit ramp and both northbound lanes were blocked.

Police confirmed the semi was transporting Gatorade. Photos of the crash scene show spilled liquid and bottles strewn about the roadway.

Howard was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Police say northbound traffic was able to continue after about 45 minutes.

No one else was hurt in the crash.
