KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee finally has ended the Southeastern Conference's longest NCAA Tournament drought by earning its first bid since its 2005 College World Series appearance. Now the Volunteers want to try to match that 2005 team's accomplishment by also getting to Omaha, Nebraska. Tennessee is the No. 2 seed in the Chapel Hill (North Carolina) Regional that begins Friday.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida point guard Andrew Nembhard is returning to school for his sophomore year. His decision should have a positive impact on the Gators next season. Nembhard had one final workout for NBA teams in Los Angeles on Tuesday before sitting down with his family and opting to stay in school. He averaged 8.0 points and 2.9 rebounds last season and ranked fifth in the Southeastern Conference with 5.4 assists a game.

UNDATED (AP) — Alabama at South Carolina on Sept. 14 will start CBS' Southeastern Conference football schedule this season. Notre Dame's trip to Georgia the next week is positioned to be a prime-time game for the network. The schedule for the 19th season of the "SEC on CBS" has been released, along with dates and times for Army-Navy and the Sun Bowl.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Minnesota broke through to reach the Women's College World Series for the first time in school history this season. The Golden Gophers will play UCLA on Thursday. In other opening day matchups, No. 1 seed Oklahoma will play Alabama, Oklahoma State will play Florida State, and Washington will face Arizona.
