CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Belk Bowl is moving to New Year's eve. The annual bowl game which features a matchup between the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Southeastern Conference teams will be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina and begin at noon Eastern time.
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina State has given women's basketball coach Wes Moore a new six-year contract. Athletic director Boo Corrigan announced the new deal after it received approval from the school's Board of Trustees last month and by the UNC system's board of governors this week. Moore will make $750,000 per year under the deal that runs through 2025.
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Terrell Tatum's two-run infield single keyed North Carolina State's four-run ninth inning that rallied the Wolfpack past Wake Forest 6-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament. N.C. trailed 5-2 entering the ninth before getting a two-run single from Brad Debo.
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Adrian Del Castillo homered, Freddy Zamora drove in three runs and Miami beat Virginia 10-3 at the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament. Anthony Vilar also had two RBIs to help the fourth-seeded Hurricanes win their tournament opener. The winner of the matchup between Miami and fifth-seeded North Carolina will advance to the semifinals.
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Mat Clark took a perfect game into the eighth inning, leading Clemson past Louisville 7-1 at the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament. Clark retired the first 22 hitters he faced before walking Alex Binelas with one out in the eighth, then lost his no-hit bid when Zach Britton led off the ninth with a homer to right. He finished with three strikeouts and got 13 groundouts and teamed with Jacob Hennessy for the third one-hitter in tournament history.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Guard Marta Sniezek has announced her transfer from Stanford and is immediately eligible to play for national runner-up Notre Dame next season. The 5-foot-8 Sniezek, from McLean, Virginia, was injured and didn't play last season for the Cardinal, who were ousted from the NCAA Tournament by the Irish in the Chicago Regional title game.
