NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — New Vanderbilt coach Jerry Stackhouse has added Memphis high school coach Faragi Phillips to his staff. Phillips has posted a 75-30 record the last four seasons at Whitehaven High School. Phillips previously coached Mitchell High School of Memphis to a 105-31 record in a four-year tenure that included two state titles and one state runner-up finish.

UNDATED (AP) — Mississippi State football coach Joe Moorhead has received a contract extension through the 2022 season that will pay an average base salary of $3.2 million. The school announced the extension on Tuesday. Moorhead originally signed a four-year deal worth an average of $2.75 million when he was hired in December 2017. The new deal is also four years, which is the longest allowed by state law. Mississippi State had an 8-5 record last season.

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) — Josh Smith homered and scored three times as No. 5 seed LSU erased an early four-run deficit and defeated No. 12 seed South Carolina 8-6 in a Southeastern Conference Tournament game. LSU (35-22) faces No. 4 seed Mississippi State (45-11) in the first day of double-elimination competition. South Carolina (28-28) has been eliminated.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Nothing drives Maria Fassi of Mexico like failure. Fassi was the Annika Award last year as the best player in women's golf as a junior at Arkansas, only to play some of her worst golf in the NCAAs. She atoned for that by winning the NCAAs in her final event before turning pro for the US Women's Open.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Maryland has boosted its frontcourt by adding Tennessee transfer Mimi Collins. The 6-foot-3 forward averaged 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in her lone season at Tennessee. Collins has three seasons of eligibility remaining. She plans to seek a waiver that would allow her to play immediately. If the NCAA doesn't grant the waiver, she would have to sit out the 2019-20 season.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Junior college forward James Rojas has signed to play with the Alabama men's basketball team. Rojas is the Crimson Tide's sixth signee and second transfer who will be eligible for coach Nate Oats' first season. He initially verbally committed to play for Oats at Buffalo.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has added a 7-footer to its roster by signing Arizona State transfer Uros Plavsic. He graduated from Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee before redshirting with Arizona State last season. The 7-foot center is originally from Ivanjica, Serbia. He moved to the United States in October 2017.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Haley Moore delivered again for Arizona by making a 15-foot birdie for a 1-up victory that sent the defending champions to a 3-2 victory over Southern Cal and a spot in the semifinals at the rain-delayed NCAA Women's Golf Championship. A six-hour storm delay meant only the quarterfinals were played Tuesday at Blessing Golf Club.
