WEST BOUNTIFUL — Three people were involved in a robbery in which one of them held a 7-Eleven cashier at gunpoint early Thursday morning, police say.

The robbery took place just after 3 a.m. at the store at 1109 W. 500 South, West Bountiful Police Chief Todd Hixson said.

Three people came into the store, and two jumped over the counter and began taking products, Hixson said. The third person held the cashier at gunpoint and then opened the cash register tills and took money, he said.

Two of the people had black handguns, he said. The people put the money into a bag and were in the store for less than two minutes before fleeing on foot, Hixson said.

No one was injured during the robbery, he added.

The three people were covered head to toe and therefore will be difficult to identify, Hixson said. All appeared to be young, he added.

One of the people is described as 5-foot-5 with an average build, and is possibly a black male, Hixson said. The other two are described as 5-foot-10 with an average build, and are possibly Hispanic.

One of the people appeared to be unable to walk on their left foot, Hixson added. The person was seen in surveillance video standing on their right foot and hopping to get around, he said.

West Bountiful police plan to release surveillance video images soon in hopes that the public may help them identify the people, Hixson said.

Officers from Bountiful, Woods Cross, North Salt Lake and Centerville were assisting West Bountiful police in searching for the three people on Thursday morning, Hixson said.
