DORTMUND, Germany (AP) — Playing his last home game for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, Christian Pulisic set his team on its way to a 3-2 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf to send the Bundesliga title race to the final weekend.

It was an emotional farewell for the American midfielder, who is joining Chelsea in a 64 million euro (now $71 million) deal agreed in January. Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc and chief executive Hans Joachim Watzke thanked the player in front of fans before the game, and Pulisic fought back tears as he took to the field.

The 20-year-old opened the scoring in the 41st minute when he headed in from close range. It was Pulisic's first headed goal in the Bundesliga.

Pulisic, who was booked in the 89th, received an ovation from Dortmund fans when he was taken off in stoppage time.

Dortmund's win over Düsseldorf closed the gap behind Bayern Munich to two points going into the final round. Dortmund next plays at Borussia Moenchengladbach while Bayern hosts Eintracht Frankfurt.

"We have to give everything next weekend and of course it depends on Bayern," Pulisic said. "We still have a chance to win the title. We believe in it."
