CLEARFIELD — Authorities are investigating a fight at a gas station that left one person unconscious and seriously injured on Wednesday afternoon.
The fight took place about 1 p.m. at the Chevron gas station near 680 N. Main Street, according to a news release from Clearfield Police Department Assistant Chief Devin Rogers.
Two adult men, the store owner and a customer, became involved in the altercation, according to Rogers.
Police arriving to the scene found an unconscious man in his 40s with a serious injury, according to the news release. The man, who was the customer, was taken to a local hospital and was still being treated there as of 4:30 p.m., according to Rogers.
No arrests have been made and the incident is still being investigated, Rogers said. Authorities were still interviewing multiple witnesses to gather details about what led to the fight, he added.
He did not identify either of the people involved in the fight.
The Chevron was closed for about two hours and 30 minutes as police investigated the incident.
Personnel from the Clearfield Police Department, North Davis Fire District and the Davis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, according to the news release.
