SALT LAKE CITY — After nearly eight months of contract negotiations, KSL channels are again available on DirecTV.
KSL TV executives announced late Thursday evening that they have reached a broadcast agreement with DirecTV after a 7 1/2-month blackout.
"Thank you for your patience. We appreciate the support through this negotiation," said KSL TV general manager Tanya Vea in a statement.
KSL TV first went off the air on August 14 last year after failing to reach a deal over market compensation. KSL TV remains the only locally-owned TV station in Salt Lake City.
As of 2015, DirecTV has an estimated 220,000 subscribers in Utah who will now be able to watch NBC shows on KSL TV.
This news comes ahead of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' general conference weekend, which is broadcast locally on KSL TV.
