NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — The Canyon County Elections Office announced its plan for a recount after the Vallivue School District's $65.3 million bond barely received voters' apparent approval.
The Idaho Statesman reports the bond requires a supermajority vote in favor, meaning 66.67 percent, to pass. On Tuesday, unofficial results showed that the bond received 66.71 percent of the vote, with 1,615 votes in favor of the bond and 806 votes against it.
If approved, the bond would pay for a needed new middle school in the district and renovations to the existing middle school.
The county anticipates receiving a recount request after the Board of County Commissioners canvass the election, which is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The recount itself is expected to happen early next week
