SALT LAKE CITY — Much of the state got walloped by a winter storm on Wednesday morning.
Areas in the Salt Lake Valley got large amounts of snow, ranging from 5 inches in Magna to 15.5 inches in Millcreek since Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The Brighton Crest, at 9,500 feet elevation at Brighton Ski Resort, won the snowfall race. Between Sunday evening and 2 p.m. Wednesday, that area has received 63 inches, or more than 5 feet, of snow.
