LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Cassius Winston scored a career-high 29 points, Nick Ward added 15 and sixth-ranked Michigan State pulled away from Nebraska late for 70-64 win. Michigan State relied on tough defense to extend its school-record Big Ten winning streak to 19 games. The Cornhuskers had their school-record 20-game home win streak end.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Jim Harbaugh has completed his coaching staff for his fifth season at Michigan. He hired defensive line coach Shaun Nua after adding offensive coordinator Josh Gattis and defensive assistant Anthony Campanile. Harbaugh says Nua is a rising star in the coaching profession. Nua was Arizona State's defensive line coach last season following a six-year run with the same position group at Navy. He was a defensive end for BYU from 2002-04 and started his coaching career at the school.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says defensive line and tight end are the team's biggest concerns heading into the offseason. The Hawkeyes finished 9-4 and ranked 25th after beating Mississippi State in the Outback Bowl. They watched a program-high four players leave early for the NFL. Tight end was by far the hardest hit, with redshirt sophomore T.J. Hockenson and junior Noah Fant both projected to be high picks after declaring themselves eligible for the draft.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Maryland coach Michael Locksley has hired former East Carolina coach Scottie Montgomery to be his offensive coordinator and put John Papuchis in charge of special teams. Locksley's initial coaching hires also include John Reagan as offensive line coach; Cory Robinson as defensive backs coach; Elijah Brooks as running backs coach; and Mike Miller as tight ends coach.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Kenisha Bell had 25 points and 10 assists and No. 23 Minnesota ended a four-game losing streak with a wire-to-wire 78-50 win over Wisconsin. Annalese Lamke added 15 points and Taiye Bello 14, with both grabbing nine rebounds, as the Golden Gophers (13-4, 2-4 Big Ten) won for the first time since matching the school's second-best start in history.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Megan Gustafson had 21 points and 16 rebounds for her 16th double-double and added six assists to lead No. 22 Iowa to a 75-62 win over Michigan. Eight players scored in the third quarter when the Hawkeyes made 10 of 16 shots, including two 3-pointers, to stretch a 32-29 lead to 54-38.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Jenna Allen scored 16 points and Nia Clouden added 15 to lift No. 17 Michigan State to a 77-60 victory over No. 9 Maryland. The Spartans led almost throughout, racing out to a 20-4 advantage in the first quarter. It was the second victory over a top-10 team for the Spartans this season. They beat No. 3 Oregon on Dec. 9.
