TALKING TRASH — Some people should talk trash.
Others, not so much.
If you just hit a buzzer-beater to win a game, you deserve to drop a few words. If you can’t get a game winner off in the final seconds, not as much.
And worse, if you are talking to an NFL running back in the backseat of your Uber car, it might be best to not talk trash about his squad.
Here are some of our favorite moments from the weekend. As always, click the video for each of the Great Clips of the Week.
Uber driver trashes Chargers … in front of lead RB
Did he have any idea?
It doesn’t seem like a Baltimore-area Uber driver knew that he had picked up LA Chargers running back Melvin Gordon before the Chargers’ 23-17 win over the Ravens on Sunday.
Maybe that’s for the best — because it gave the world an incredible conversation, all captured by Gordon’s cellphone.

Gordon: “Honestly, man, I don’t think the Ravens are going to win tomorrow — me personally, if I’m being honest. I know you’re from Baltimore, but I just don’t see it.”
Driver: “I’m not from Baltimore. I’m from Texas.”
Gordon: “You’re from Texas?! So how you ain’t going with Dallas tonight?”
Driver: “Well, now you have to realize that I’m picking up people from Baltimore here, so I’ve got to talk that crazy talk.”
Maybe he was right, though; even though the Chargers won, Gordon — the 900-yard rusher — only put up 40 yards and a touchdown in the 6-point win.
Nahhhh.

That’s a buzzer-beater
We don’t show you highlights from JV basketball games often.
It’s nothing against JV basketball; all high school athletes should be valued, and the development and training brought at the junior varsity level is invaluable, especially as those players progress to the varsity, all-star and even collegiate levels.
But a JV highlight has to be pretty spectacular for us to take notice.
Brighton’s Trad Nattress caught our attention this week, though.

The junior drilled a game-winning 3-pointer from halfcourt at the buzzer that helped the Bengals stun host Riverton, 48-45 on Friday.
Congratulations, Trad; now get your coach to call you up on the Bengals’ varsity squad, which is 9-4 on the season and kicks off Region 7 play Friday against Corner Canyon.
Utah Valley’s brutal loss
In case you missed it, Utah Valley men’s basketball dropped a brutal conference game at Cal State Bakersfield over the weekend, when the Roadrunners nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to steal a 73-71 win over the Wolverines.
But that wasn’t the most brutal play of the game.
UVU had the ball with 4.3 seconds left, and couldn’t get a shot off — or even an in-bounds play.

The Wolverines opened Western Athletic Conference play at 0-2, and return home Saturday to host Seattle at 7 p.m. MST in Orem.
