RADFORD, Va. (AP) — Devonnte Holland scored a career-high 16 points, Ed Polite Jr. had 12 points, nine boards and three blocks and Radford beat Division II Mars Hill 80-51 on Tuesday.

Radford led 40-31 at the break with the help of 12 points off turnovers. Holland, who had 11 points at the break, completed a 3-point play and capped his scoring with 9:19 remaining to give Radford a 60-44 lead.

Caleb Tanner added 11 points for Radford (8-6) and Carlik Jones had 10. The Highlanders start Big South Conference play on Saturday after their strong nonconference schedule included games against Notre Dame, Clemson, Texas and Maryland.

Radford entered ranked eighth out of 351 Division I teams in 3-point percentage at 41.1 (117 for 285), but was just 6 of 27 (22.2 percent) against Mars Hill.

Freshmen Chris Barnette and Javonte Cook each scored nine points for Mars Hill, which was outrebounded 43-28.
