AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Alpha Diallo scored 20 points and Providence got a big out-of-conference win with a tough 71-65 victory over Texas. Isaiah Jackson added 12 points for the Friars, who shot 50 percent in the first half and a used a solid defensive effort in holding Texas to just 38 percent for the game. Providence never trailed in their final game before the start of Big East play.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Spencer Rattler and Austin Kendall should battle to be the next star coming out of Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley's quarterback assembly line next year and follow back-to-back Heisman-winning quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray as the starter. Rattler was the consensus No. 1 quarterback in the class of 2019. Kendall battled Murray for the starting job into fall practice this season.

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Kristian Doolittle scored three straight key baskets late in overtime, and Oklahoma defeated Northwestern 76-69 for its seventh straight win. Doolittle, who finished with a team-leading 14 points, connected on layups 50 seconds apart, then added a close-in jumper with 19 seconds left in overtime to make it 74-69.

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Marial Shayok scored 23 points in just 22 minutes, Lindell Wigginton had 15 points after missing the previous 10 games with a strained foot and Iowa State rolled past Eastern Illinois 101-53. Michael Jacobson added 15 points for the Cyclones.

WACO, Texas (AP) — Makai Mason had 14 points as Baylor beat Oregon 57-47 after holding off a big comeback by the Ducks. Oregon trailed by as many as 16 points after halftime. The Ducks cut their deficit to 47-45 on Payton Pritchard's 3-pointer with 3 ½ minutes left. Oregon had its season-best four-game winning streak snapped. Baylor won at Pac-12 team Arizona last weekend but was coming off a home loss to Stephen F. Austin.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Defensive tackle Darrion Daniels will finish his college career at Nebraska after earning his degree from Oklahoma State. He will have one season of eligibility with the Huskers. His brother, Damien, is a sophomore on Nebraska's defensive line.

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Curtis Jones scored a career-high 23 points and Cam McGriff had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead Oklahoma State to an 82-73 victory over Central Arkansas. Jones, who also had six rebounds, was playing just his second game for the Cowboys after becoming eligible last week, following his transfer from Indiana last year.

UNDATED (AP) — Some traditional recruiting heavyweights have plenty of work to do in the next several weeks to sign the level of talent they usually attract each year. Southern California is outside the top 20 and Miami outside the top 30 of team standings in composite rankings of recruiting sites compiled by 247Sports.
