UNDATED (AP) — The biggest college football game of the weekend is taking place in a baseball stadium. No. 3 Notre Dame will put its unbeaten record and College Football Playoff hopes on the line when it faces No. 12 Syracuse at Yankee Stadium. The only other matchups between Top 25 teams have No. 11 Central Florida hosting No. 19 Cincinnati and No. 18 Iowa State visiting No. 13 Texas.

NEW YORK (AP) — Jordan Bohannon scored 16 points to lead Iowa to a 77-69 upset of No. 13 Oregon in the second semifinal of the 2K Classic.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Parker Van Dyke scored 16 points off the bench, while Donnie Tillman tallied 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, to lead Utah to a 98-63 victory over Mississippi Valley State. Timmy Allen finished with 13 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Kiana Williams scored 11 of her 21 points in the third quarter and No. 7 Stanford beat visiting San Francisco 96-62. Alanna Smith scored nine of her 18 points in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter for the Cardinal (3-0), who improved to 15-4 against the Dons (1-1).

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — The men's basketball game between Detroit Mercy and California has been canceled due to poor air quality in the area. Officials from both schools are discussing the possibility of rescheduling the game.

UNDATED (AP) — The most compelling matchup in the Pac-12 this week may be the rivalry game between USC and UCLA because of the drama that surrounds it. The Trojans were officially eliminated from contention for the Pac-12 title game with last weekend's loss to Cal at the Coliseum. The loss amped up the talk that Clay Helton's days at USC may be over. On the other sideline is Chip Kelly, who hasn't fared as well as some Bruins boosters would have liked in his first season as head coach.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The play of defensive linemen Brandon Pili, Jay Tufele, Marlon Tuipulotu and Jacob Lichtenstein has been a bright spot for USC this season. The four have combined for 12 1/2 tackles for loss and 6 1/2 sacks, with the second-year players looking like the difference-makers the Trojans have lacked up front for nearly a decade. Occupying blockers and creating penetration will be keys when USC faces UCLA at the Rose Bowl on Saturday.
