POMONA, Calif. (AP) — Leah Pritchett led Top Fuel qualifying Friday night in the season-ending Auto Club NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway.

Prichett had a 3.649-second pass at 329.34 mph in the second session.

"When you have this horsepower weather and this time of day you can just feel the energy," Pritchett said. "The reason why there's a smile on our faces is that we were able to execute what we wanted to do. Tomorrow we're not going to have these same conditions so that's why we're excited we were able to capitalize on it tonight."

Tommy Johnson Jr. led in Funny Car, Jeg Coughlin Jr. in Pro Stock and Matt Smith in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Johnson had a 3.881 at 328.54 in a Dodge Charger R/T, Coughlin ran a 6.527 at 211.39 in a Chevrolet Camaro, and Smith had a track-record speed of 200.65 at 6.774 on an EBR.
