SOUTH OGDEN — Officials identified a woman who was arrested following a DUI crash that struck a South Ogden police vehicle late Sunday night, officials said.
Marshaye Jones, 28, of South Ogden, was arrested and booked into the Weber County Jail late Sunday night, according to South Ogden Police Sgt. Randy Thomason.
The collision occurred about 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Adams Parkway and state Route 89, Utah Highway Patrol officials said in an emailed statement.
A squad car was traveling north on Adams Parkway when a white Chevrolet Aveo traveling south on S.R. 89 failed to stop for a red light and struck the front end of the police vehicle in the intersection, according to Utah Highway Patrol officials.
The female driver of the Chevrolet was "alcohol revoked," but was driving under the influence at the time of the crash, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
The driver was also interlock restricted, meaning she can only drive a vehicle with a breathalyzer attached to the ignition that restricts the vehicle from starting unless she is under the blood alcohol limit. She did not have an interlock installed at the time of the crash, officials said.
Neither the police officer in the squad car nor the driver of the Chevrolet sustained serious injuries. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage, officials said.
Utah Highway Patrol officials responded to the scene of the crash and will investigate criminal charges.
Jones was also charged with a DUI in September and has a long criminal history in Utah, including a conviction for sexual solicitation and possession of drug paraphernalia in February 2017.
