(KSL News) A man is in jail this morning accused of using a gun to steal beer from a Salt Lake City convenience store.
It happened around 4:30 a.m. at the Maverik at 1700 S. 300 West.
Police say someone wearing a bandanna pointed a gun at the clerk while another person stole a pack of beer from the cooler.
Lt. Fred Lewis of the Salt Lake City Police Department said, "It's unfortunate that people would go to these lengths just for a case of beer."
A short time later, police pulled over a car and arrested Sione Vatulei for aggravated robbery. A woman also is in custody for questioning.
