NEW YORK (AP) — Marion Marauder of Canada drew the first post position and was installed the 3-1 morning-line favorite for the $1 million Yonkers International Trot.
A field of 10 trotters from seven countries will go in the 1 1/4-mile race on Saturday at Yonkers Raceway.
A 5-year-old, Marion Marauder is the leading money earner with more than $3 million in lifetime earnings on the strength of 20 wins in 48 career starts.
Ariana G., representing the United States, will try to become only the 10th mare to win the International Trot. She drew the third post position number and is a 5-1 third choice.
The Yonkers International returned in 2015 after a 20-year absence. The International began in 1959 at now defunct Roosevelt Raceway.
