SALT LAKE CITY — School may have started, but there's still plenty to do in Utah that doesn't involve binders and backpacks. Sweater weather will be here in no time, and with it comes all of our favorite fall activities, so get ready to get your pumpkin spice on and check out these events happening throughout the Beehive State:

Northern Utah

Weekends: Oktoberfest

A variety of local and regional artist displays, arts, crafts, German music and dancing, food, beer and more will be included at this year's Oktoberfest. This event is open Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6:30 p.m. through Oct. 21 at 9385 S. Snowbird Center Drive. Admission is free and parking is $10.

Sept. 5: Bonneville Chamber Music Festival

University of Utah professors Hasse Borup and Andrew Staupe will perform Danish composer Carl Nielsen's complete works for violin solo, violin and piano at the Val A. Browning Center, Allred Theater, at Weber State University in Ogden. Tickets range from $4.50-$7. The event starts at 7:30 p.m.

Sept. 5-8: Brigham City Peach Days

This year’s Peach Days will include children's activities, a car show, live entertainment, free concert, parades and much more. The event is free. Times and locations can be found on the event website.

Sept. 28-29: Ogden Greek Food Festival

This annual event celebrates Greek culture by offering a taste of native cuisines. It will be hosted by Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church at 674 42nd Street in South Ogden. It will run Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Salt Lake City area

Sept. 4: Rumi Poetry Club

This event runs from 7-8:30 p.m. and features recitations of poems, music, dancing and speeches by 13th-century Islamic scholar and Sunni Muslim poet Rumi. The event is free and is held at the Anderson-Foothill Library, 1135 S. 2100 East in Salt Lake City.

Sept. 6-8: FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention

This year’s FanX at the Salt Palace Convention Center will feature guests Jeff Goldblum, Rainn Wilson, Chuck Norris, Lucy Lawless and more. Ticket prices vary and can be purchased online. Times vary by day.

Sept. 6-16: Utah State Fair

The Utah State Fair will be held at various times from Sept. 6-16; find each day’s open and close times here. Tickets for the fair featuring food, music, a carnival and more, range from $8 to $40; children 5 and under enter free. The fair is located at 155 N. 1000 West in Salt Lake City.

Sept. 7-9: Salt Lake Greek Festival

The 43rd-annual festival will be held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Greek Orthodox Church at 279 S. 300 West in Salt Lake City. Admission is $3 or free with a FanX wristband; children 5 and under get in free. The festival will feature traditional Greek dances, music and food.

Sept. 11: Utah Symphony Salute to Youth

Join the Utah Symphony and some of Utah’s talented young musicians starting at 7 p.m. at Abravanel Hall, 123 W. South Temple in Salt Lake City. Orchestra-level tickets are still available for $12 and can be purchased online.

Sept. 15-16: Festa Italiana

This festival celebrates the culture of Italy by offering two days of food and music and dancing native to the country. There are pizza and pasta eating competitions as well as an Italian car show. It is held at The Gateway at 18 N. Rio Grande St. and admission is free. It runs Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.

Sept 22-23: Midnight Drags

This year’s event will feature night racing with Salt City Drift from 6 p.m.-midnight on Sept. 22 and a daytime event on Sept. 23. Tickets are $9 for either event; children 4 and under get in free. The ticket booth opens two hours before the event start time. Races will be held at Rocky Mountain Raceways, 6555 W. 2100 South in Salt Lake City.

Central Utah

Sept. 5-22: 45th annual Utah Quilt Show

The annual event will be held Tuesday-Saturday from Wednesday until Sept. 22 at the Springville Museum of Art, 126 E. 400 South in Springville.

Sept. 6-8: Timpanogos Storytelling Festival

This fun-for-the-family festival will feature storytelling performances, puppetry, pottery and more at Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point at 3900 Garden Drive in Lehi. Tickets range from $8 to $135 and can be purchased online. Event times vary.

Sept. 6-8: Ferron Peach Days

Peach Days offers a variety of family activities including a golf tournament, a parade, a car show, a corn hole tournament, and various booths and exhibits. Tickets are $7 per person or $25 for a family of five. Visit the website for specific times and locations of events.

Sept. 8: The Lights Fest

Tickets range from $50-$55 for the Lights Fest taking place at Cory Wride Memorial Park, 1427 N. Mid Valley Road in Eagle Mountain. Attendees will have the opportunity to send off personalized sky lanterns with tiki torches. The event begins at nightfall.

Sept. 15: Provo Pride Festival

This will take place at the Utah County Historic Courthouse, 151 S. University Ave. in Provo. The event is free and goes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Live entertainment, music and food will be featured.

Sept. 15: India Fest

India fest will feature Indian food, entertainment, henna, art, photography and much more at the Krishna Temple, 311 W. 8500 South in Spanish Fork. The event will be held from 5-9 p.m. Admission is $3.

Sept. 28-29: Cornbelly's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Festival Grand Opening

Thanksgiving Point’s corn maze will hold its grand opening from 10 a.m.-midnight both days. The event will feature pig races, Scarytales, a candy cannon and fireworks, which start at 8:30 p.m. The maze is located at 3003 N. Thanksgiving Point Way in Lehi. Ticket prices vary and can be purchased at the gate.

Southern Utah

Now-Sept. 8: DOCUTAH

The international documentary film festival will take place at varying times throughout the day and feature 68 films from 14 countries. The films will be screened at multiple locations in St. George. Tickets range from $35-$90 and can be purchased online.

Sept. 21-22: Salt to Saint relay

This bicycle relay takes place through 400 miles of open southern Utah road. Bikers will relay from Salt Lake City to St. George. Participants can register online before the event as solo riders or in teams of four or eight people. Prices vary.
