SALT LAKE CITY — A man is in critical condition after an early-morning shooting outside the Moose Lounge nightclub, police said.

The shooting took place about 2 a.m. Sunday at the nightclub, 180 W. 400 South, according to Salt Lake police Lt. Yvette Zayas.

The man’s friends took him to a hospital in serious condition. He was later taken in a medical helicopter to another hospital and was downgraded to critical condition, Zayas said.

Gang detectives were still investigating what led up to the shooting, Zayas added.

Police have not made any arrests, but they did find a car belonging to a person who may have been involved in the shooting, Zayas said.

She did not provide any other details about the shooting or the people involved.
