LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A baby born on a northern Utah roadside is home and settling into a routine after her unusual arrival.
The Logan Herald Journal reported Saturday that Jaclyne Crookston was on her way to the hospital with her husband when she realized her baby was coming — ready or not.
The couple called 911 and Logan Police Officer Rozlyn Newman arrived. She put on a pair of gloves and delivered the infant in the couple's truck after midnight on June 28.
The healthy 7-pound-3-ounce baby and her mother were taken to a local hospital, and have since returned to their River Heights home.
Baby Lainey Crookston is the fourth child for the couple. Jaclyne Crookston says doctors have induced labor in two of her previous pregnancies, so she didn't think this baby would come on her own.
