FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A Florida man accused of dumping his pregnant wife's body in a trash bin also has been charged with killing his father-in-law.
The Sun Sentinel report s that Hollywood police say 22-year-old Cassandritz Blanc was charged Wednesday in the death of 68-year-old Roosevelt Bernard of Hollywood.
An arrest report says Blanc shot Bernard and set the corpse on fire in a field near his father-in-law's home to try to conceal the killing last weekend.
According to court documents, Blanc killed Martine Bernard on June 4 and kept her body in his Fort Lauderdale apartment for eight days before moving it to a trash bin in an alley.
Blanc faces two counts of premeditated murder and two counts of abusing a corpse in the two slayings. He was held without bond after his arrest Tuesday in the Fort Lauderdale case.
